Acadia Park
Yesterday, while the world reeled from a friendly software update, we were going through immigration at our first U.S. port, Bar Harbor. Shortly before noon we made it off the ship and into Bar Harbor.
Bar Harbor from the ship on a beautiful day
We took the free shuttle to Acadia National Park, paid park admission, and found the loop road shuttle. This took us around many of the most scenic parts of the park, including the Sandy Beach. We caught glimpses of dark blue-green waves crashing against stony shores topped with spruce, under bright blue sky. It’s beautiful, but you’re going to have to take my word for it. I didn’t take any pictures through the bus windows.
Back in Bar Harbor we found an ice cream shop. This is just slightly more difficult than finding a lobster restaurant. And then we were back on this ship for sail away.
Goodbye Maine, goodbye sun
Today we’ve made it to Boston and with some effort and luck we will navigate our way to the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum.
